James Potter, 17 years of age, and basically the best person you will ever meet.

Gryffindor Chaser and Captain, bloody brilliant Quidditch player, handsome, windswept, talented, clever, hilarious and altogether fun to be around. Oh, and Head Boy, as well.

Gryffindor for the cup!

With Sirius on one of of him and James on the other they three of them slowly made their way back to the castle. Remus cradled his broken arm against his chest and found himself leaning more on Sirius than James. Maybe it was because he was used to the psychical contact with Sirius. Used to finding comfort in his touch. Whatever it was it didn’t matter. As soon as they stepped out from the tree the cold early morning wind assaulted Remus’ body even though he was wrapped in Sirius’ cloak. A small noise left his lips and he pressed his body close against Sirius’ hoping for some sort of warmth. The walk seemed to take forever but it wasn’t one of the worse ones. At least Sirius didn’t have to drag him back this time. When they reached the front stairs Remus gave a groan. He had no idea how he was going to be able to pull his body up them. Not when everything was so sore and didn’t want to walk properly. So trying to distribute his weight between the two men he slowly took a step up the stairs.

James almost rolled his eyes. Would have, if the situation had been any less grave. Of course Sirius wouldn’t listen to him. He didn’t blame his best mate at all, because it always made him sick to see Remus like this, but it’d be nice if at some point they’d pay attention to him. He stayed back, feeling completely useless, as Sirius did his best to comfort Remus, only jumping back in when Sirius needed his help. Sometimes, James Potter knew how to follow orders.

Together, Sirius and James coaxed Remus’s sore body through the tunnel and acrosss the grounds. It felt dangerous; James didn’t like it at all. Moving could hurt him worse. But he would do what he was told. The staircase loomed ominously in front of them and James didn’t miss Remus’s moan. With a glance at Sirius, James stood a little straighter, taking a bit more of the other man’s weight, and stepped slowly up the stairs. Why were there so many? They did it though, eventually, made it up one stair at a time, trying not to jostle Remus as they did so, and James thanked Merlin for whoever had created the passage in the Entrance Hall which let out only steps from the Hospital wing as he brushed back the tapestry, tapped the wall with his wand, and the three started up the winding slope which, though it was slightly longer, was definitely easier than the stairs.
